Backstory

Background

Alithien was born as Alithia Silverlight, daughter of Jeleron Cindershard and Silansia Silverlight. Jeleron was recently employed as a royal blacksmith around the time of Alithien's birth, specializing in embedding magical runes into weapons and armory. Silansia, on the other hand, was a travelling singer, travelling across all of Quel'thalas - and occasionally beyond - to perform for the masses.

To his father's dismay, Alithien always wanted to be just like his mother. He learned to sing and play the harp and lyre at a young age, and occasionally accompanied his mother on her travels.

Jeleron and Silansia had a tense relationship. He loved that woman, but always suspected she had affairs on her travels. This was the cause of many *many* between the two.

On one of these travels, Silansia performed for the ranger army. She met a charming and handsome ranger by the name of Landris Dawnwing, whomst she slept with.

Silansia hid her pregnancy for as long as she could, strategically revealing it at a time when she could claim that the baby was Jeleron's.

When it came close to the delivery time, Silansia decided to make a trip to visit her sister, Telarinn, who resides in the city of Bel'shala. Her plan was to spend a few months there where she could give birth to her baby and claim that the baby was delivered later than it did.

However, a small foil developed in Silansia's scheme ... Alithien begged to come along, to visit his "Auntie Tela", and Jeleron thought it was an excellent idea.

Due to bringing along a small child, Silansia's journey slowed down, and she ended up going into labor on the side of the road a couple of days away from Bel'shala. She gave birth to a sweet dark-haired girl, whomst she named Eladrel. Silansia, Alithien, and Little Ela cuddled together to sleep for the night, however when Alithien woke up to a crying Eladrel, he turned to find that his mother had died in her sleep.

Alithien, who was only a mere child, did not know what to do. He was too small to bury his mother, and had no clue how to ride a thalassian steed. So he cried for help for hours on end, hoping some traveller would pass through and aid him.

Thankfully, one did. Aurelion Skyshine, the eldest son of High Priest Eldranar, was returning back home to Bel'shala after a recent trip to Silvermoon. Upon hearing Alithien's cries and seeing the scene, Aurelion and his servants quickly delivered Alithien and his family to Bel'shala. There, Alithien reunited with Telarinn, who oversaw Silansia's burial and aided her niece and nephew during the early months of Eladrel's life.
